Annie has been painting and drawing as long as she can remember. She is a trained painter and is currently focusing on acrylic monotypes and digital illustration.

Her Catholic faith and vocation of wife and mother have profoundly impacted her artwork. As a convert to Catholicism the subject matter of the saints and the Blessed Virgin have captured her imagination and she strives to bring joy, wit and lively motion to her representations of them.

As Dominican Contemplative Nuns, we have withdrawn from the world in such a way as to embrace everyone in the heart of Christ. As a community, we are called by God to witness to his love, to adoration and prayer, with the Word of God as the center of our lives. We seek to sustain the Church, to intercede for mankind. Through our life of prayer, work and study we bring to fruition God’s loving Word in the World. Famous pumpkin bread, peanut brittle, chocolates.

Pax and Pieta was created by Gabriella Montgomery, who had a conversion experience with Christ during the pandemic. After realizing the deep desire for beauty in the world, she became inspired to create Pax and Pieta. She works to provide opportunities of encounter for those who are searching for peace in a time of chaos, by presenting various forms of truth, beauty and goodness. Her business Pax and Pieta provides at-home Catholic art classes that are designed to help you grow deeper in your faith. Gabriella is also a senior majoring in Classics at the University of California-Berkeley and prays to see the face of Christ in those who she encounters each day.

Monica is a Mother and Emergency Room Nurse, who had a reversion to the Catholic faith after a deep encounter with Christ. Growing up in Uganda, plus working at the forefront in emergency health, she experiences first hand human suffering and because of this she is passionate about mission, purpose, metanoia, economic justice, dignity of the human person and using one’s gift for the greater glory of God.

She loves giving time in service to God and his church but more importantly, just spending time with the Lord. She enjoys the outdoors and singing with her local choral choir.

Monica published her first children’s book which is being followed by the release of a board game. Monica also created the Life of Purpose planner as a way to manage and maximize her time so as to live in a place of joy and leisure while simultaneously using her gifts centered in Christ and His mission.
