The Catholic Maker is a that Guild exists to support, inspire, and uplift Catholic artists and artisans by fostering a community where faith, creativity, and craftsmanship intersect. Our mission is to encourage the creation of beautiful works of art that glorify God, deepen our faith, and serve the Church and the world. By cultivating a guild of like-minded individuals who are passionate about using their talents for the greater good, we aim to provide opportunities for education, fellowship, and service, rooted in the Catholic tradition.

Our Core Values:

Faith: Creativity is a way to express our relationship with God.

• Community: Building strong, supportive relationships with other artists.

• Excellence: Honoring God by creating works of beauty and excellence.

• Service: Using our talents to serve the Church and others.

ABOUT US

THE WORK

Throughout religious art history, the goal of artists and creators has been to provide some sort of window(hence the sort of framing device or window) into the Divine, to help reveal something about the Creator of creators. Through this work, little-c creators hope that their work may draw others into the great Mystery of the Divine despite our imperfect work.

Artists and makers hope to provide a window into the perfection of the Trinity, though our works alone are imperfect.

The figure of Christ is placed reminding us of who our work is to draw others too. The crucifix this is based on is St. John Paul II's papal crosier as he gave great care and concern to the use of artwork in the life of the faithful (see St. John Paul’s "Letter to Artists")

COMMUNITY

Supported by the generosity of volunteers and our partner parishes, Catholic Makers mission is to honor and preserve the rich heritage of Catholic art and culture, while inspiring the creation of new works that reflect the beauty, truth, and transcendence of the Faith. Through support for artists, artisans, and cultural initiatives, we aim to deepen the understanding of God’s presence in human creativity and foster a renewed Catholic cultural renaissance.

As a collective and ecclesiastical venture, we seek to connect local Catholic Communities with Catholic artists and entrepreneurs. We bring a Catholic Maker Market to your community, providing you with the opportunity to be patrons of beauty and morally sound artistry.
